Objective of the conference
In December 2009, Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono pledged to cut GHG emissions in Indonesia by 26 % from business as usual levels by 2020 or by 41 % by 2020 if sufficient international support would be provided. For this reason, “Indonesian Specialist and Academician Association in Germany (IASI g.e.V)” and The Embassy of Republic of Indonesia in Germany have several objectives in this conference:
- to provide solutions for problems of energy and GHG emissions in Indonesia
- to increase public awareness concerning the importance of reduction of GHG emissions in Indonesia and its economic benefits
- to bridge capacity building and technology cooperation between Indonesia and the member states of the EU
- to explore untapped potential of CDM projects between Indonesia and the member states of the EU. Compared to other developing countries, Indonesia is far behind to taking advantage from CDM projects.
- to increase economic and diplomatic cooperation between Indonesia and the member states of the EU

Compared to other developing countries, Indonesia is far behind
to taking benefit from CDM projects.
